Rund 1.000 Seemeilen gen Osten von der Costa Blanca lockt die Costa Smeralda von Sardinien mit einem Segelrevier der Superlative. Ein türkisfarben schimmerndes kristallklares Meer, feinsandige Strände, idyllische Felsbuchten und Natur pur im Schutzgebiet La Maddalena – der Nordosten der Insel Sardinien gilt als exklusives Segelrevier, mondäner Treffpunkt der Superreichen und ist dieses Jahr zum 22. Mal Austragungsort des #RolexSwanCup.
Ich teilen ein paar Impressionen von der Regatta, an der Jachten der Marke Club Swan zwischen 36 und 80 Fuß Länge mit bis zu 20 Mann Crew teilgenommen haben, aus Heimathäfen wie London, Berlin, München, Rom, Monaco, Stockholm, aber auch San Pedro del Pinatar.
Der erste Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup ist 1980 ausgetragen worden. Seitdem lädt der Präsident des Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo, Aga Khan, jedes Jahr die One Class Swan zur Regatta. Die Marina Porto Cervo hat 700 Liegeplätze, 100 davon reserviert für Superjachten. Prädikat: Eine Show der Superlative!
Auf dem Podium: Der deutsche Marcus Brennecke aus München mit der Jacht SY HATARI auf Platz 3 nach acht Regatta-Tagen in der Klasse ClubSwan 50. Der Spanier Pedro Vaquer Comas aus Port Andratx siegte in der Klasse ClubSwan 42 mit SY NADIR.
SY BALTHASAR, im Besitz von Louis Balcaen und mit dem Neuseeländer Hamish Pepper als Taktiker, gewann vor SY STELLA MARIS (Eigner: August Schram) mit dem brasilianischen Taktiker Robert Scheidt (fünffacher Olympiamedaillengewinner), und SY HATARI von Marcus Brennecke und mit dem Deutschen Markus Wieser als Taktiker.

Around 1,000 nautical miles to the east of the Costa Blanca, the Costa Smeralda of Sardinia beckons with a sailing area of superlatives. A turquoise shimmering crystal clear sea, fine sandy beaches, idyllic rocky bays and pure nature in the protected area of La Maddalena – the northeast of the island of Sardinia is considered an exclusive sailing area, sophisticated meeting place of the super rich and is this year for the 22nd time the venue of the #RolexSwanCup. We share a few impressions of the regatta, in which yachts of the Club Swan brand between 36 and 80 feet in length have participated, with home ports such as London, Berlin, Munich, Rome, Monaco, Stockholm, but also San Pedro del Pinatar.
