Rechtsanwalt, Unternehmer, passionierter Segler: Carlos Carmona hat die Wahlen für den neuen Vorstand des Real Club Náutico Torrevieja gewonnen. Im Interview mit Michael Allhoff, Direktor des Online-Magazins CostaBlancaLEBEN auf Facebook und Gründer von AlphaMediaComunicación, erklärt er die Ziele für die Zukunft und zieht Bilanz.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zur Wahl. Unter dem Motto „Für einen RCNT von allen und für alle“ haben Sie und ihr Team aus zwölf Kandidaten am 11. Februar gewonnen. Wie fühlen Sie sich?
Nun ja, wie Sie wissen, es war ein langer Prozess, in den wir viel Ilusion, Arbeit und Engagement investiert haben. Am Ende hat sich unsere Arbeit gelohnt. Es haben sich rund 800 Mitglieder an der Wahl beteiligt, das war ein Erfolg. Es bedeutet, der Club ist lebendig, den Mitgliedern ist ihr Club wichtig. Es gab große Zustimmung zu unserer Kandidatur und wir haben eine Zweidrittelmehrheit erzielt. Und uns anschließend gleich an die Arbeit gemacht. Wir haben uns beim Vorgänger im Amt, Germán Soler, bedankt für sein Engagement. Immerhin, er hat den Jachtclub 16 Jahre lang geleitet und viel von seiner persönlichen Zeit in den Jachtclub investiert. Er hat viele sehr gute Initiativen eingebracht, das muss man anerkennen.
Können Sie unseren Lesern und Leserinnen einen Überblick über Ihren persönlichen und beruflichen Werdegang geben?
Ich bin in Murcia geboren, aber aufgewachsen bin ich zwischen Murcia und Torrevieja. Ich bin 46 Jahre alt, verheiratet und habe zwei Kinder im Alter von sieben und neun Jahren. Ich bin Rechtsanwalt und Unternehmer. Mit dem Club bin ich praktisch seit meiner Kindheit verbunden, seitdem ich meine Milchzähne verloren habe. Ich habe als Kind angefangen zu segeln. Als Vorstandsmitglied habe ich dann 2008 bei Germán Soler angefangen und bis 2012 gearbeitet. Dann war ich zwischen 2019 bis 2021 wieder im Vorstand. Ich bin schon seit vielen Jahren Mitglied. Mein Vater war Mitglied, wenn auch kein Gründungsmitglied, aber er war in den Anfängen des Clubs dabei.
Als Anwalt habe ich mich auf Handels- und Insolvenzrecht spezialisiert, aber jetzt bin ich als Unternehmer tätig. Ich bin in den Bereichen Familienunternehmen, Immobilienentwicklung, Landwirtschaft und Logistik tätig. Ich habe mehrere Unternehmen. Ein Unternehmen erschließt Grundstücke und baut und verkauft Häuser. Zwei andere Firmen sind in der Landwirtschaft tätig, wir produzieren Zitronen, Orangen und Mandarinen. Und dann haben wir noch ein Unternehmen, das Pakete zustellt.
Sie haben eine Leidenschaft für das Meer im Blut.
Ja, ich habe im Alter von elf Jahren mit dem Segeln begonnen…
In der Jollenklasse Optimist ?
Na ja, Snipe, gleich in der Klasse Snipe! Ich war Vizemeister in der spanischen Snipe-Klasse, spanischer Juniorenmeister, habe mich für eine Weltmeisterschaft und eine Europameisterschaft qualifiziert. Ich habe an vielen Regatten teilgenommen. Ich bin mit der Snipe auf dem Rücken durch ganz Spanien gereist und habe gesegelt. In Melilla, Katalonien, Galizien, Andalusien…
Später sind Sie zum Hochsee-Segeln gekommen.
Ja, lange Zeit, zuerst bin ich mit anderen gesegelt…
Wie das Sprichwort besagt: “Das beste Boot ist das Boot meines Freundes“…
Genau, aber 2005 habe ich mir ein Segelboot gekauft, eine Dufour 34. Ich segle seit 2000 mit dem Boot SY El Lince, mit Heimathafen Torrevieja.
Was waren die ersten Maßnahmen von Ihnen und dem neuen RCNT-Vorstand nach der Wahl?
Wir haben zwei Wochen nach der Wahl mit der Arbeit begonnen. Als erstes trafen wir uns mit dem Rathaus, um dem Bürgermeister unsere Ziele und Bedürfnisse mitzuteilen und ihn um seine Unterstützung für die Verlängerung oder Erneuerung der Konzession zu bitten, die der Club beim Landesministerium für Häfen des Landes Valencia beantragt hat.
Anschließend haben wir uns mit allen Mitarbeitern des Clubs getroffen, um ihnen zunächst unseren Dank für die in den letzten Monaten geleistete Arbeit auszusprechen, denn es ist schwierig, dem ganzen Druck standzuhalten. Sie haben alles sehr gut gemeistert. Das ganze Team, die Verwaltung, die Trainer, die Segler, sie alle haben sich sehr eingesetzt. Es gibt etwa 40 Mitarbeiter, im Sommer sind es mehr als 50, weil wir mehr Leute für unsere Aktivitäten einbinden.
Die Arbeit der RCNT-Mitarbeiter ist wirklich vorbildlich.
Ja, sie verrichten ihre Arbeit in einer Weise, die über das Professionelle hinausgeht. Die Sorgfalt und Aufmerksamkeit, die alle Mitarbeiter des Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja (RCNT) den Mitgliedern und Besuchern entgegenbringen, ist lobenswert! Und das haben wir ihnen auch mitgeteilt, um ihnen für ihr Verhalten in den letzten Monaten zu danken, für ihre Fairness, für ihre Neutralität, die nach 16 Jahren mitunter schwer zu wahren sein mag. Ich denke, sie haben das alle sehr gut gemacht. Und dann haben wir ihnen unser neues Projekt vorgestellt, um ihnen Ruhe und Gelassenheit zu vermitteln, denn wenn sich etwas ändert, werden viele Menschen zunächst einmal etwas nervös. Sie sind beruhigt, sie wissen, dass das Team, der neue Vorstand, auf alle und jeden einzelnen Mitarbeiter zählt. Wir wollen sie besser kennen lernen. Wir halten Treffen mit ihnen ab und versuchen sicherzustellen, dass jeder an dem Ort ist, der am besten zu seinen Eigenschaften, Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten passt, was ja auch wichtig ist, denn wenn sie an richtiger Position sind, werden sie viel besser arbeiten können.
Sie werden also niemanden entlassen?
Nein, nein, nein. Darüber hinaus werden wir zukünftig so viele neue Leute einstellen, wie wir brauchen. Hier ist niemand überflüssig.
Der RCNT bietet nautische Sportarten wie Segeln, Rudern und Angeln an. Wie sehen Sie die strategische Position des Clubs im Hinblick auf die Zukunft?
Der Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja hat viele Möglichkeiten. Es handelt sich um eine Einrichtung, die glücklicherweise über einen starken sozialen Rückhalt verfügt, es gibt 1.700 Familien, das sind fast 4.000 Nutzer. Wir befinden uns in einer privilegierten Enklave und Lage, und wir wissen das. Aus diesem Grund arbeitet der Club immer mit allen Unternehmen und Vereinen in Torrevieja zusammen, die uns brauchen. Wir sind ein Club, der der Gesellschaft Torreviejas offen steht. Wir sind da, weil Torrevieja will, dass wir da sind. Der Club ohne Torrevieja wäre nicht der Club, der er ist. Wir sind eine der Top-Gemeinden des Landes Valencia, von der Größe her steht Torrevieja an fünfter Stelle. Dank der Bedeutung, die die Stadt Torrevieja in Spanien hat, haben wir den Club, den wir haben. Die Zukunft des Clubs hängt vom Sport ab, und sie hängt davon ab, dass wir eine Nachhaltigkeitsgarantie erhalten, die es uns ermöglicht, eine Reihe von Investitionen zu tätigen, die der Club braucht und die die Stadt braucht. Dafür brauchen wir eine zeitliche Garantie, dass die Generalitat, das Landesministerium für Häfen (span.: Consellería de Puertos), uns eine Konzession für mindestens 20 oder 25 Jahre gibt, damit wir eine Reihe von Investitionen zur Erweiterung und Verschönerung des Clubs tätigen können.
Der nautische Tourismus mit seinem Regattakalender hat hervorragende Auswirkungen auf die Wirtschaft von Torrevieja. Regatten wie die Euromarina Optimist Trophy ziehen Besucher aus ganz Europa an.
Wir sind uns bewusst, dass es einen nautischen Tourismus gibt, bei dem der Club seit vielen Jahren viel zu sagen und viel beizutragen hat. Wie Sie wissen, war der Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja ein Pionier in der Vereinigung der Yachtclubs in der Comunidad Valenciana, wo wir zu den Gründern dieser Vereinigung gehören. Auch bei der nationalen, spanischen Konföderation der Yachtclubs gehören wir zu den Gründern. Wir sind dort zum Beispiel mit dem Amt des Schatzmeisters vertreten, das ich innehabe. Wir sind uns bewusst, dass wir einerseits vereint zusammen arbeiten müssen. Und dass uns andererseits der nautische Tourismus als Institution viel beitragen kann. Wir realisieren eine Reihe von Events mit internationalem Charakter, darunter die Olympic Week Comunitat Valenciana oder die Euromarina Trophy, bei der wir Sportler und Sportlerinnen aus vielen Ländern willkommen heißen. An der Euromarina Trophy zum Beispiel nehmen Sportler aus über 40 Nationen teil. Das bedeutet, dass diese Besucher unsere Stadt kennenlernen, das Land Valencia, die gute Arbeit, die hier geleistet wird, sowohl auf sportlicher Ebene als auch in der Gastronomie und der Unterstützung des Tourismus. Der Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja offenbart sich so auch als ein touristisches Highlight, vergleichbar wie einem hervorragenden Hotel, einem Parador oder einem Themenpark. Wir sind offen für den Tourismus und fühlen uns verpflichtet, ein gutes Image zu vermitteln, damit die Touristen uns treu bleiben und wiederkommen. Denn ja, Torrevieja lebt natürlich auch vom Tourismus.
Gibt es in diesem Jahr Programme, die der Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja für die Öffentlichkeit anbietet?
Ja! Sie wissen, dass der Club seit vielen Jahren das Programm „Sensaciónes Náuticas“ anbietet. Der Club bietet von Juni bis September Trainingsprogramme zum Erlernen von Wassersportarten wie Rudern, Kanufahren, Windsurfen, Segeln in all seinen Formen an, und wir haben das Programm für dieses Jahr bereits vorbereitet. Wir werden nicht nur dabei bleiben, sondern haben das Angebot für dieses Jahr mit verschiedenen Sommerkursen erweitert, zum Beispiel werden wir Wingfoil-Bretter anschaffen, was etwas ganz Neues ist, sowie iQ-Foil Boards. Die Idee ist, dass Sensaciónes Náuticas nicht nur im Sommer, sondern auch im Herbst, Winter und Frühjahr läuft, dass wir also ganzjährig Kurse zum Erlernen oder Verbessern von Segeln, Rudern, Windsurfen anbieten können.
Denn an der Costa Blanca ist das Klima ideal für den Wassersport, mit 3.200 Sonnenstunden und sehr angenehmen Temperaturen…
Ohne Zweifel. Das Wetter hier ist wunderbar!
Sensaciónes Náuticas ist ein Programm, an dem junge Leute teilnehmen können und das der jungen Generation den Wassersport näher bringt…
Ja, Sensaciónes Náuticas findet wochenweise unter der Aufsicht von Kursleitern statt. Es nehmen auch Kinder ab bereits drei Jahren teil. Sie lernen zum Beispiel Segelknoten, gehen segeln und windsurfen. Wir freuen uns über eine sehr hohe Anzahl von Nutzern des Programms im Sommer, die daran teilnehmen, und das sind nicht nur Mitglieder des RCNT, es sind auch viele Menschen, die dank dieses Programm neue Mitglieder unseres Clubs werden. Wir schaffen es damit, viele Menschen für den Segelsport zu begeistern und sie dafür zu gewinnen. Unsere die Idee ist, eine weitere Laser SV3-Jolle anzuschaffen, um auf insgesamt sechs Boote zu kommen und so ein breiteres Angebot machen zu können. Wir haben Segelteams aus dem Ausland, kürzlich Sportler aus Finnland, die eigens kommen, um hier zu trainieren.
Sind für dieses Jahr Neuerungen geplant?
Wir führen zur Zeit eine Analyse der Nutzung der verschiedenen Bereiche des Real Club Náutico durch. Wir werden mit der Fitnesshalle beginnen, wir wollen das Gym erweitern. Auch werden wir das alte Restaurant El Puerto im ersten Stock in Betrieb nehmen, das seit einigen Monaten leer steht, aber Teil des Club Náutico ist. Die Idee ist, unser bestehendes Restaurant in das Obergeschoss zu verlegen. Von dort aus genießt man eine sehr schöne Aussicht auf den Hafen. Wir werden die Terrassen des RCNT, die Westterrasse und die Hafenterrasse, weiter ausstatten und einrichten. Hier im Erdgeschoss wollen wir dem Ganzen noch eine weitere Wendung geben, wir wollen Arbeitsräume einrichten, auch einen Spielraum für Kinder und Jugendliche und natürlich einen Raum für die Älteren, wo sie Karten oder Domino spielen können.
Wie ist die Motivation in den Reihen des neuen Vorstands des Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja?
Wir sind sehr engagiert und begeistert im neuen Amt. Und ja, wir haben jetzt vier Jahre vor uns. Wir sind der Meinung, dass die Dinge zunächst genau analysiert werden müssen, dass man sich einigt und dann handelt. Es macht keinen Sinn, erst zu handeln ohne sein Tun zuvor analysiert zu haben, damit man Rückschritte vermeidet und alle Schritte dann wirklich vorwärts orientiert erfolgen. Eine Maßnahme, die wir sofort ergreifen, ist, den Swimming Pool zu renovieren und für den Sommer vorzubereiten.
Wir haben ein Führungsteam im Vorstand, das sehr eingebettet ist im sozialen Gefüge der Stadt Torrevieja. Wir wollen, dass sich auch die Mitglieder, die kein Boot besitzen, als Teil des Clubs fühlen. Deshalb werden wir in diesem Jahr mehr gesellschaftliche Veranstaltungen durchführen. Die Wahl der „Sirena“ (span. für Meerjungfrau; Schönheitskönigin des RCNT) wird wieder jährlich stattfinden, nicht nur alle zwei Jahre. Und wir werden mehr und bessere Kultur- und Freizeitveranstaltungen anbieten.

Lawyer, entrepreneur, passionate sailor: Carlos Carmona has won the elections for the new board of the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja. In an interview with Michael Allhoff, publisher of the online magazine #CostaBlancaLEBEN on Faceboo and founder of AlphaMedia Comunicación, he explains his goals for the future.
Congratulations on your election. Under the motto “For an RCNT by all and for all”, you and your team of twelve candidates won the elections for the board of directors on February 11. How do you feel?
Well, as you know, it was a long process in which we invested a lot of illusion, work and commitment. In the end, our work paid off. Around 800 members took part in the election, which was a success. It means the club is alive, the members care about their club. There was a lot of support for our candidacy and we achieved a two-thirds majority. And then we got straight down to work. We thanked our predecessor in office, Germán Soler, for his commitment. After all, he ran the yacht club for 16 years and invested a lot of his personal time in the yacht club. He has brought in many very good initiatives, which has to be acknowledged.
Can you give our readers an overview of your personal and professional career?
I was born in Murcia, but I grew up between Murcia and Torrevieja. I am 46 years old, married and have two children aged seven and nine. I am a lawyer and entrepreneur. I’ve been involved with the club practically since I was a child, ever since I lost my baby teeth. I started sailing as a child. I then joined Germán Soler as a board member in 2008 and worked until 2012. Then I was back on the board between 2019 and 2021. I’ve been a member for many years. My father already was a member of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, although not a founding member, but he was there in the early days of the club.
As a lawyer, I specialized in commercial and insolvency law, but nowadays I work as an entrepreneur. I am involved in family businesses, real estate development, agriculture and logistics. I have several companies. One company develops land and builds and sells houses. Two other companies are involved in agriculture, we produce lemons, oranges and mandarins. And then we also run a company that delivers parcels.
You have the passion for the sea obviously in your blood…
Yes, I started sailing at the age of eleven.
In the Optimist class?
Well, snipe, right in the Snipe Class. I was vice champion in the Spanish Snipe class, Spanish junior champion, I qualified for a world championship and for a European championship. I have taken part in many regattas. I traveled all over Spain with the Snipe on my back and sailed. In Melilla, Catalonia, Galicia, Andalusia…
Later on you engaged in Ocean Sailing…
Yes, for a long time, at first I sailed offshore together with others…
As the saying goes “The best boat is the boat of my friend!“
Exactly, but back in the year 2005 I bought my own sailing boat, a Dufour 34. And I’ve been sailing since 2000 with the boat SY El Lince, based in Torrevieja.
What were the first measurements you and the new RCNT Board took after the election?
We started work just two weeks after the election. First of all, we met with the town hall to communicate our objectives and needs to the mayor and to ask him for his support for the extension or renewal of the concession that the club has applied for from the Ministry of Ports of the valencian authorities.
We then met with all the club’s staff to first of all thank them for the work they have done over the last few months, as it is difficult to cope with all the pressure. They have handled everything very well. The whole team, the administration, the coaches, the marineros, they have all worked very hard. There are about 40 employees, in the summer we are more than 50 because we involve more people in our activities.
The work and commitment of the employees of the Real Club Náutico de Real Club Náutico Torrevieja is truly exemplary…
Yes, they carry out their work out in a way that goes far beyond the just professional aspect. The care and attention that all the staff of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja (RCNT) gives to members and visitors is extraordinary! And we have also communicated this achievement to them to thank them for their performance in recent months, for their fairness, for their neutrality, which is maybe sometimes difficult to maintain after 16 years under former leadership. I think they have all done very well. And then we presented our new project to our staff, to give them a sense of calm and composure, because when something changes, people tend get a little nervous at first. They are reassured, they know that the team, the new Directory Board, is counting on everyone and every single employee. We want to get to know them better. We hold meetings with them and try to make sure that everyone is in the place that best suits their characteristics, skills and abilities, which is important, because if they are at the right position, they will be able to work much better.
So you’re not going to fire anyone?
No, no, no. Instead, we will be hiring as many new people as we need in the future. No one is superfluous here.
The RCNT offers nautical sports such as sailing, rowing and fishing. How do you see the club’s strategic position for the future?
The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja has many possibilities. It is an institution that fortunately relies on a strong social support, there are 1,700 families as members, that’s almost 4,000 users. We are located in a privileged setting and location, and we appreciate that very much. For this reason, the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja always works together with all the businesses and associations in Torrevieja that need us. We are a yacht club that is open to Torrevieja´s society. We are there because Torrevieja wants us to be there. The club would not be the club it is without Torrevieja. We are one of the top municipalities in the Valencia region, in terms of size Torrevieja is in fifth place. Thanks to the importance that the city of Torrevieja has in Spain, we have the club that we have. The future of our yacht club depends on sport and it depends on us getting a sustainability guarantee that allows us to make a series of investments that the club needs and that the city needs.
Nautical tourism with its regatta calendar has an excellent impact on Torrevieja’s economy. Regattas such as the Euromarina Optimist Trophy attract visitors from all over Europe.
We are aware that there is a nautical tourism in which the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja has had a lot to say and contribute for many years. As you know, the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja was a pioneer in the association of yacht clubs in the Comunidad Valenciana, where we are one of the founders of this association. We are also one of the founders of the national Spanish confederation of yacht clubs. We are represented there, for example, with the position of treasurer, which I hold. We are aware that we have to work together as one. And that, on the other hand, nautical tourism as an institution can contribute a lot. We organize a series of events with an international character, such as the Olympic Week Comunitat Valenciana or the Euromarina Optimist Trophy, where we welcome athletes from many countries. For example, athletes from over 40 nations take part every year in the Euromarina Optimist Trophy. This means that these visitors get to know our city, the Valencia region and the good work that is being done here, both at a sporting level and in terms of gastronomy and supporting tourism. The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja thus also reveals itself as a tourist highlight, comparable to an excellent hotel, a Parador or a theme park. We are open to tourism and feel obliged to convey a good image so that tourists remain loyal to us and come back. Because yes for sure, Torrevieja also lives from tourism.
Are there any programs that the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja is offering to the public this year?
Yes, definetly! You know that the club has been offering the “Sensaciónes Náuticas” program for many years. The club offers training programs from June to September to learn water sports such as rowing, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing in all its forms, and we have already prepared the program for this year. Not only are we going to stick with that, but we have expanded the offer for this year with different summer courses, for example we are going to purchase wingfoil boards, which is something completely new, as well as iQ-Foil boards. The idea is that Sensaciónes Náuticas will not only run in the summer, but also in the fall, winter and spring, so that we can offer courses to learn or improve sailing, rowing and windsurfing all year round.
Because on the Costa Blanca the climate is ideal for water sports, with 3,200 hours of sunshine and very pleasant temperatures all year round…

Sensaciónes Náuticas is a program in which young people can participate and which brings water sports closer to the younger generation…
Sensaciónes Náuticas takes place every week in summer under the supervision of instructors. Children even from the age of three take part. For example, they learn sailing knots, go sailing and windsurfing. We are pleased to have a very high number of users of the program in the summer, and these are not only members of the RCNT, but also many people who become new members of our club thanks to this program. We manage to get a lot of people interested in sailing and win them over. Our idea is to purchase another Laser SV3 dinghy to bring the total number of boats to six, so that we can offer a wider range of activities. We have sailing teams from abroad, recently athletes from Finland, who come here especially to train.
Are there any innovations planned for this year?
W are currently analyzing the use of the various areas of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja. We will start with the gym, we want to expand the gym. We also want to put the old El Puerto restaurant on the second floor into operation, which has been empty for months but is part of Club Náutico. The idea is to move our actual restaurant to the upper level. From there you can enjoy a very nice view on the port of Torrevieja. We will continue to equip and furnish the terraces of the RCNT, the west terrace and the harbor terrace. Here on the ground level we want to give the whole thing another twist, we want to set up working spaces, a playroom for children and young people and of course a room for older people where they can play cards or dominoes.
How motivated is the new board of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja?
We are very committed and enthusiastic about our new challenge. And we now have four years ahead of us to implement our vision. We believe that things need to be analyzed in detail first, that we need to come to an agreement and then act. It makes no sense to act without having analyzed your actions upfront, so that avoids going backwards and instead all steps are being taken forwards. One measure we are taking immediately is to renovate the swimming pool and prepare it for the summer.
We have a management team on the board that is very embedded in the social fabric of the city of Torrevieja. We want members who don’t own a boat to really feel part of the club. That is why we will be organizing more social events this year. The election of the “Sirena” (Spanish for mermaid; beauty queen of the RCNT) will once again take place annually, not just every two years. And we will offer more and better cultural and leisure events.

Abogado, empresario, apasionado de la vela: Carlos Carmona ha ganado las elecciones para la nueva junta directiva del Real Club Náutico Torrevieja. En una entrevista con Michael Allhoff, director de la revista online #CostaBlancaLEBEN en Facebook y fundador de #AlphaMediaComunicación, explica sus objetivos para el futuro y hace balance.
Enhorabuena por su elección como nuevo presidente del Real Club Náutico Torrevieja. Bajo el lema “Por una RCNT de todos y para todos”, su equipo de doce candidatos ganasteis el pasado 11 de febrero. ¿Cómo se siente?
Bueno, como sabes, fue un proceso largo en el que invertimos mucha ilusión, trabajo y compromiso. Al final, nuestro trabajo dio sus frutos. Alrededor de 800 socios participaron en las elecciones, lo que fue un éxito. Significa que el club está vivo y que los socios se preocupan por su club. Hubo un gran apoyo a nuestra candidatura y logramos una mayoría de dos tercios. Y entonces nos pusimos manos a la obra. Agradecimos a nuestro predecesor en el cargo, Germán Soler, su compromiso. Al fin y al cabo, dirigió el club náutico durante 16 años e invirtió mucho de su tiempo personal en el club náutico. Aportó muchas iniciativas muy buenas, que hay que reconocer.
Nos presenta para nuestros lectores un pequeño resumén de su vida personal y profesional?
Yo he nacido en Murcia, pero me he criado a caballo entre Murcia y Torrevieja. Yo tengo 46 años, estoy casado, tengo dos niños de siete y nueve años. Soy abogado y empresario. Estoy unido al Club prácticamente desde que me salieron los dientes, navegando a vela. Luego como miembro de la junta directiva empezé mi andadura en el 2008 con Germán Soler hasta el 2012. Luego me incorporé en la junta directiva otra vez en el 2019 hasta el 2021. Soy un socio de muchos anos, de siempre. Mi padre era un socio si no fundadores pero que estuvieron al principio del Club.
Como abogado he estado especializado en derecho mercantil y derecho concursal, pero ahora ejerzo como empresario. Me dedico a negocios familiares, trabajo en el sector de la promocion inmobiliaria, la agricultura y logística. Tengo varias empresas. Una empresa hace desarrollo de suelo y construye y vende viviendas. Tengo otras dos empresas que se dedican a la agricultura, producimos limón, naranja y mandarina. Y luego tenemos una empresa de paquetería.
Lleva la pasión por la mar en su sangre.

En la clase Optimist?
Bueno, Snipe, enseguida en la clase Snipe. Yo he sido subcampeón de España de Snipe, Campeón de España juvenil, me he clasificado para un mundial y para un campeonato europeo. He sido participante en muchas regatas. Me he recorrido toda España con el Snipe a cuestas, navegando. En Melilla, Catalunya, Galicia, Andalucía…
Mas tarde se has involcrado en lo que es la vela crucero.
Si, desde mucho tiempo, primero salí a vela con otros…
Como hay el dicho inglés „The best boat is the boat of my friend“ – El mejor barco es el barco de mi amigo…
Exacto, pero en el 2005 me he comprado un velero, un Dufour 34. En crucero he estado navegando ya desde el 2000, con la embarcación SY El Lince, de aquí de Torrevieja.
Cuales fueron después de las elección las primeras actuaciones suyas y de la nueva junta directiva del RCNT?
Empezamos a trabajar dos semanas después de las elecciones. Lo primero que hemos hecho ha sido reunirnos con el Ayuntamiento con el fin de trasladarle nuestras lineas de actuación y nuestras necesidades al Alcalde y solicitarle su apoyo para la prorroga o renovación de la concesión que el Club tiene solicitado en la Consellería.
Después nos hemos reunido con todos los trabajadores del club para expresarles en primer lugar nuestro agradecimiento para el trabajo realizado en los últimos méses, que es difícil aguantar toda la presión. Ellos han llevado todo muy bien. Todo el equipo, administración, entrenadores, marineros, han estado todos en su sitio. Son alrededor de 40 trabajadores, en verano son más de 50, porque incorporamos mas gente para nuestras actividades.
El trabajo de todos los empleados del RCNT es realmente ejemplar…
Sin duda, hacen un desempeño de su labor más allá de lo profesiónal. El cariño, la atención que todos los trabajadores del club prestan al socio y al visitante, pues es digno de alabar! Y eso es lo que les dijimos, agradecerles por el comportamiento durante estos los últimos méses, su equilidad, han estado neutrales, algo que después de 16 anos es difícil que mantuvieran. Yo creo que todos lo hicieron muy bien. Y luego les hemos presentado el proyecto, darles tranquilidad y calma, porque cuando hay cambio la gente se pone nerviosa. Estan calmados, saben que el equipo, la nueva junta directiva cuenta con todos los trabajadores. Lo que queremos es conocerlos. Estamos manteniendo reuniónes con ellos y vamos a tratar de que cada uno esté en la ubicación mas acorde a sus características, sus capacidades y a sus habilidades, que eso es importante también, porque si están en el sitio que deben trabajarán mucho mejor.
No vais a despedir a nadie?
No. No. No. Más alla, incorporaremos la gente que haga falta. Aquí no sobra nadie.
El RCNT ofrece deportes náuticos como la Vela, el Remo, la Pesca. Como ves la posición estratégica del Club en vistas al futuro?
El Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja tiene muchísimas posibilidades. Es una institución que afortunadamente contamos con un respaldo social brutal, son 1.700 familias, lo que viene a ser casi 4.000 usuarios. Estamos en un enclave y una ubicación privilegiada, y lo sabemos. Por eso el Club siempre se muestra participativo o colaborativo con todo el tejido empresarial y asociativo de Torrevieja que nos necesita. Somos un club abierto a la sociedad torrevejense. Estamos ahí gracias a que Torrevieja quiere que estémos. El Club sin Torrevieja no sería el Club. Somos un municipio Top en la Comunidad Valenciana, en quinto lugar de la Comunidad Valenciana y gracias a la relevancia que tiene la Comunidad en España tenemos el Club que tenemos. El futuro del Club pasa por el deporte y pasa por que tenemos la garantía de perdurabilidad, que nos permita realizar una serie de inversiones que el club necesita y la Ciudad necesita. Para ello necesitamos una garantía de tiempo, que la Generalitat, la Conselleria de Puertos, nos proroge el plazo de concesión de 20 o 25 anos como mínimo para poder afrontar una serie de inversiones a adecentar el Club.
El turismo náutico con su calendario de regatas tiene excelentes efectos sobre la economía de Torrevieja. Regatas como la Euromarina Optimist Trophy atraen visitantes de toda Europa.
Nosotros somos conscientes de que hay un turismo náutico en el que el club tiene mucho que decir y mucho que aportar, desde hace muchísmos años. Como bien sabes, el club ha sido pionero en la asociación de clubes náuticos de la Comunidad Valenciana, donde hemos sido fundadores. La Confederación de clubes náuticos a nivel estatal, donde hemos sido fundadores. Estamos ahí con el cargo de tesorero por ejemplo, donde entro yo. Somos muy conscientes de que por un lado tenemos que ir reunidos y por otro, el turismo náutico nos puede aportar mucho como institución, nosotros realizamos una serie de eventos con carácter internacional, la Olympic Week, el Trofeo Euromarina, en el que recibimos a visitantes deportistas de muchos países. La Euromarina Trophy atrae deportistas de 40 países. Eso hace que estos visitantes que vienen conozcan nuestra ciudad, conozcan la Comunidad Valenciana y sepan el buen trabajo que se hace aquí, tanto a nivel deportivo como de servicio de restauración y apoyo al turismo. El Club es una estancia mas turística como puede ser un hotel, como puede ser un parador o el Aquapark. Estamos abiertos al turismo y tenemos que dar una buena imágen para que el turista vuelva y repita, porque la Torrevieja también vive del turismo, evidentemente.
Existen programas para éste año, que el Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja ofrece al publico?
Si! Sabes que el club desde muchos años mantiene el programa “Sensaciónes Náuticas”. El club ofrece de junio a septiembre unos servicios de aprendizaje de los deportes náuticos como pueden ser remo, la piragua, el Windsurf, la vela en todas sus modalidades y tenemos ya preparado el programa para éste año y no solo nos vamos a quedar ahí, hemos ampliado la oferta con cursos diferentes, por ejemplo vamos a adquirir tablas de Wingfoil, que es algo muy novedoso, y iQ-Foil. No solo en verano, de hecho a partir de este verano, la idea es que “Sensaciones Náuticas” se mantenga durante el tiempo, que la oferta exista en otoño, invierno y primavera también, que podamos incorporar a llevar a cabo cursos de aprendizaje o perfeccionamiento de la vela, el remo, el Windsurf..
Porque en la Costa Blanca el clima apoya, con 3.200 horas de sol y temperaturas muy agradables…

Sensaciones Náuticas es un programa en verano donde los jóvenes pueden participar y el cual acerca la náutica a la nueva generación…
Va por semanas, con monitores, desde los tres años tenemos niños aquí. Aprenden nudos marineros, salen a vela, hacen Windsurf. Tenemos un numero muy elevado de usuarios del programa “Sensaciones Náuticas” en verano que participa, y ademas no solo son socios, hay los socios y mucha gente que a raíz del programa luego se hacen socios. Conseguimos enganchar y meter el gusanillo para la vela en mucha gente. Pero la idea que llevamos nosotros es adquirir un barco Laser SV3 más para llegar a seis y poder tener un abanico de oferta mas amplio. Tenemos equipos que vienen del extranjero, de visitantes de Finlandia que vinieron a aprender con nuestros barcos.
Hay cambios planeados para éste año?
Estamos realizando un análisis de usos a las distintas dependencias del Real Club Náutico Torrevieja. Vamos a empezar con el gimnasio, queremos ampliar el gimnasio, queremos poner a funcionar el antiguo restaurante El Puerto de la primera planta, que esta vacío desde hace unos meses, pero que es parte del Club Náutico. La idea es trasladar el comedor a la parte de arriba. Tiene unas vistas muy bonitas. Queremos habilitar las terrazas, la terraza del poniente y la terraza del Puerto. Aquí en planta baja queremos darle un vuelta mas, queremos hacer una sala de estudios, una sala de entretenimiento para los jóvenes y evidentemente de distracción para jugar cartas o domino para los mayores.
Como esta la motivación en las filas de la nueva Junta Directiva del Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja?
Tenemos muchas ganas y tenemos cuatro años por delante. Estamos de la opinión, de que las cosas se tengan que analizar, consensuar y después actuar, no actuar sin analizar para no dar pasos atrás, sino todos los pasos hacia delante. Una cosa que vamos hacer ya ahora es arreglar la piscina, la vamos a renovar y preparar para el verano.
Tenemos un equipo de directivos que esta muy involucrado en el tejido social de Torrevieja y necesitamos que el socio que no tenga barco se sienta parte del club también. Entonces vamos a llevar a cabo éste año mas eventos sociales. La elección de la Sirena volverá a ser anual, no cada dos años. Vamos a llevar a cabo eventos lúdicos y culturales de mayor calado, mejores de los que había.
