50 Hochseejachten am Start, ein Kurs über 30 Seemeilen vor der Küste von Torrevieja, mäßiger Wind aus Südwest mit im Mittel 20 Knoten – die Regatta „Estrella de Levante“ ist eines der Highlights im Segelsportkalender des Landes Valencia und der Region Murcia.
Erster Regatta-Tag: Start mittags, mit einem Kreuzkurs auf die Wendemarke vor Cabo Roig, vor dem Wind unter Spi retour zum Start, gefolgt von einem zweiten Kreuzkurs nach Cabo Roig, raumschots retour nach Cabo Cervera, die letzte Kreuz ins Ziel – es war ein herausfordernder seglerischer Wettbewerb. Die Regatta, gesponsert von der Brauerei Estrelle de Levante und organisiert vom Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, findet seit bereits 24 Jahren statt. Ich teile Impressionen von Bord der SY ALLEGRA VIVACE, einer schnittigen BH-36 unter Kapitän und Eigner Antonio Serrano.
Es war ein harter Segelwettbewerb für alle teilnehmenden Hochseejachten und ihre Crew´s. Angesichts des starken Wellengangs und Windböen mit bis zu 24 Knoten mussten 14 Jachten aufgegeben. SY Four Glory hat´s am Schlimmsten erwischt: Das Boot verlor sein Ruder, das Schiff musste aus der Seenot gerettet werden.
Die Resultate des 1. Regattatags: Auf dem Podium: SY Trabuco von Francisco Martínez siegte mit einer Zeit von 3:23 Std., gefolgt von SY Allegro Vivace mit acht Minuten Differenz und Sopu Tres unter Jorma Nuutinen, mit 18 Minuten Differenz auf den Sieger. Im Anschluss an die harte Regatta feierten die Segler ausgelassen mit Live-Musik und BBQ auf der Terrasse des Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja (RCNT). Fazit: Ein unvergesslicher sportlicher Segeltag!

50 ocean-going yachts at the start, a course over 30 nautical miles off the coast of Torrevieja, moderate winds from the southwest with an average of 20 knots – the “Estrella de Levante” regatta is one of the highlights in the sailing calendar of Valencia and the Region of Murcia.
The first day of the regatta: start at midday, with a cross course to the turning mark off Cabo Roig, downwind under spinnaker back to the start, followed by a second cross course to Cabo Roig, back to Cabo Cervera on the beam, the last cross to the finish – it was a challenging sailing competition. The regatta, sponsored by the Estrelle de Levante brewery and organized by the Eal Club Náutico de Torrevieja, has been taking place for 24 years. #CostaBlancaLEBEN shares impressions from aboard SY Allegra Vivace, a sleek BH-36 (ORC 1 class), captained and owned by Antonio Serrano from Santa Pola.
It was a tough sailing competition for all the participating ocean-going yachts and their crews. In view of the heavy swell and strong gusts of wind of up to 24 knots, 14 yachts left the starting field with various accidents and gave up. SY Four Glory was the worst hit: the boat lost its rudder, the ship remained uncontrolled and had to be rescued from distress.
The results of the first day of the regatta: On the podium: SY Trabuco of Francisco Martínez won with a time of 3:23 hours, followed by SY Allegro Vivace with a difference of eight minutes and Sopu Tres under Jorma Nuutinen, with a difference of 18 minutes to the winner. After the tough regatta, the sailors celebrated with live music and a BBQ on the terrace of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja (RCNT). Conclusion: An unforgettable day of sporty sailing!
